Exhumations

For full coffin burials, where an exhumation is to occur a Confirmation / Authorisation letter must be provided.

In byondpro from the person summary screen, a proforma letter is available and can be accessed from the Exhumation Letter 1 button.

Exhumations

This confirmation is generally used once the Funeral Home contacts the cemetery.  The cemetery then reviews the details of the burial and provides the confirmation that the exhume can proceed.

This letter is intended as a supporting document for the local health authority.

Use the search select option to choose the Funeral Home that will be involved in the exhumation process in the Funeral Director field.

Note, this may differ from the original funeral director who was engaged for the initial burial.

In certain circumstances, a funeral director may not be involved in the exhumation and therefore processes around generating documentation may differ.

For the purposes of this example, let us assume a funeral home is engaged and we will choose Australian Heritage Funerals as the funeral director.

You can print the document to pdf (recommended to keep a copy on the person file).

There is a need to print the document out to obtain the appropriate signature of the cemetery nominated approving officer.

We suggest, once signed, the document is scanned back in and attached to the person record.

Here is an example of a sample letter from our Demo system.
