Calendar Rule Setups

Purpose

Calendar rules are designed to control the length of appointments and the assignment of resources in byondpro.

Configuration options allow the control of:

Appointment length in minutes
Additional time (buffer appointments)
Fixed start times
Appointment end times
Assigned user/resource

Calendar rules are required in the bookings process for chapels, function venues, cremation (direct deliveries) and interment/burial scheduling. They can optionally be used to manage sales appointments of different types which assists with planning and analytics.

Adding new Records

New Calendar Rule entries are created from the Cemetery System Configuration menu in System Administration.

Button Functions

Button	Description
Find	Search list of existing Calendar rule setup records
Clear	Clear previous search criteria
New	Prepare new record
Save	Saves the current record
Cancel	Closes the screen without saving changes
Change	Switches to edit mode

Standard Field List

Field	Description	Associated Business Process
Site	Selection list of configured sites	Activates calendar rule only for appointments within the nominated site
Fixed Start Time	Checkbox	Controls ability to manage appointment start time freely, or validate against list of start times
Extended End Time Allowed	Checkbox	Controls ability to change appointment end time and extend beyond calculated standard minutes.

Action	Selection list of appointment actions
Standard Time (minutes)	Numeric	Creates an appointment for the number of minutes defined
Additional Time (minutes)	Numeric	> 0 creates an additional buffer appointment immediately following the appointment entry, for the number of minutes defined
Chapel or Appointment User	Selection list of users/resources	Defaults user selection in appointment entry screen
Fixed Start Times
Calendar Time	Date/time field	Validates appointment start time against times listed. NB: date defaults to 01/01/2000 and has no bearing on time validations.
